Bombardier Aerospace in Indian Aviation Business

Bombardier Aerospace will attend the inaugural International Exhibition and Conference on Civil Aviation, India Aviation 2008. With the nation's booming economy and rapid growth in air travel, Bombardier recognises India's increasingly important role in the aviation industry.

David Dixon, Regional Vice-President, Sales, Asia-Pacific, Bombardier Business Aircraft said, "Business aviation is growing at a dynamic pace in India. In fact, Bombardier has already established roots in the country with companies like Satyam and Capgemini, and we are committed to expand our presence even further." "Our comprehensive family of Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets offer operators in the region a complete range of travel solutions to meet the increasing business travel requirements of this market."

Trung Ngo, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft's Vice President, Sales, for the Asia-Pacific market said, "Bombardier Commercial Aircraft's product portfolio is ideally suited for the Indian market. "For short-haul operations, the Q400 NextGen airliner is a fast, fuel-efficient and lower-emission 70- to 80-seat large turboprop. In medium-haul applications, CRJ NextGen aircraft are the benchmarks for regional jet efficiency in the 60- to 100-seat segment. For longer routes, the recently launched CSeries airliners are the world's newest and most advanced single-aisle aircraft designed specifically for 110- to 130-seat comfort and setting new standards in technology, fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact."

Bombardier Aerospace revealed its new all-composite Learjet 85

Bombardier Aerospace revealed its new all-composite Learjet 85 aircraft interior to customers and special guests at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) annual convention and exhibition in Orlando on 6th october 2008. The full-scale composite mock-up will be open for viewing throughout the show at the Bombardier static pavilion at Orlando Executive Airport.

"The Learjet 85 aircraft's cabin features more volume and comfort than any existing midsize offering and now our customer can experience it first hand," said Steve Ridolfi, president, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "Development of the Learjet 85 aircraft is progressing well as we enter the next phase of this exciting new program". Designed to provide a larger, more comfortable cabin than any existing midsize aircraft, the Learjet 85 aircraft's 665 ft3 (18.8 m3) cabin is the largest Learjet aircraft cabin ever - offering eight passengers a stand-up environment built to ensure superior productivity. A key element of the aircraft's cabin is its large windows, measuring approximately 12 x16 inches (30.5 X 40.6 cm), maximizing the amount of natural light into the aircraft as well as passenger viewing capability.
The standard double club configuration floorplan features a generous 30-in (76.2-cm) pitch between the seats, a full service galley, full lavatory, three large storage closets, providing in-flight access to a total of 30 ft3 (0.85 m3) of storage space. All cabin seats are fully-berthable with the capability to deploy four at any time for optimum comfort.

The new Learjet 85 aircraft - redefining the midsize business jet class
Launched on October 30, 2007, the new Learjet 85 aircraft will be the first Bombardier Aerospace jet to feature an all-composite structure and will be the first all-composite structure business jet designed for type certification under U.S. Federal Aviation Administration FAR Part 25. An extraordinary advancement in next generation flight, the Learjet 85 aircraft's all-composite structure will allow Learjet aircraft designers to maximize cabin comfort while minimizing drag and improving performance.

The Learjet 85 aircraft is set to deliver the extraordinary performance, superior technology and exceptional value Learjet aircraft owners expect. The aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307B engines, each boasting 6,100 pounds of take-off thrust each at sea level 86?F (30?C) and low noise levels, while the advanced low NOx emission combuster offers reduced environmental impact. The clean-sheet Learjet 85 aircraft targets a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.82 and a transcontinental range of up to 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km)(i).
The new Learjet 85 aircraft flight deck combines advanced technology with superior design elements for a cockpit environment unlike any other midsize jet. The latest in technological advancements from Rockwell Collins - the new Pro Line F-sion avionics suite - is once again paired with superior design aesthetics to create the ultimate Learjet flight control environment.
